GREAT BOARDJuly 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to get the wave board when I had learned how to ride during gym class. I got it cheaper than the usual price that sports stores sell it for. I bought it and i love it. People say the wheels wear out to quickly, but don't all skate boards need new wheels? Your usually not suppose to go near very rocky surfaces its probably better to go to a skate park or a very smooth street. Overall this is a very good board, but i would suggest to wear a helmet.
Great Choice for Someone Who likes Skateboarding.....July 7, 2008 ....but would like a little change. It's a little tricky to get use to the wiggle motion. Most people say that's what they don't like. I like the fact that your feet never touch the ground (unless you fall off!) and you can make smooth turns. The Wave Ripple Junior Street Surfing Board-Little Rippy Great for smaller people.
Great gift!June 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this as a gift for my 12 year old sister and 16 year old brother. both are into skating and love it. it is a bit difficult to ride at first but they both picked it up in an afternoon. It is a great cross between skating and snowboarding.
Wear serious helmet and pads.. teen and older only!June 9, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
We bought this as a gift for our ten year old grandson. Not a good choice. In fact, watching all of his uncles, who are 21 to 30 years old, and skaters of varying expertise, mostly fail with bloodied hands etc.. i'd say this board is for athletic teens. With just 2 wheels for balance, while at the same time moving the board using a whole new concept (you never kick' the ground as with skateboard) and balance opposite from the instincts of a skater...Only the uncle who actually watched the video (very important) was able to sorta have fun, ... Granted this was a side street with some gravel to make it interesting, but there were serious spills that day! We found out later that another nephew actually broke his arm on his tenth birthday with the Wave.. so i am glad that our birthday boy was unable to even try the board. Now, i'm thinking someday, under the right street conditions, and certainly after watching the video... his father will ride the board. It Looks" fun on the video!! I know our 23+ year old boys won't give up .. they like a challenge. But be prepared for a learning curve and wear pads! Certainly Not for a novice. Completely different from a skate board.
