The convenient Hit-A-Way also sets up quickly and easily collapses for storage. The Hit-A-Way Pole is an ideal training device for the home, park or school.

Amazon.com Product Description
The perfect practice partner for aspiring baseball and softball players, the Pro Performance Hit-a-Way pole lets you perfect your swing without the headache of lost balls or broken windows. The Hit-a-Way--which is compatible with Hit-a-Way and Zip-n-Hit trainers--starts with a practice pole that locks into place for safety and stability, with nonslip footpads on the base of each leg to maintain the pole position during use. Next, you simply attach one of the two hitting trainers (sold separately), each of which includes a baseball or softball at the end of a pair of cables. Once the trainers are installed, you can take practice swings to refine your stroke, learn "top-half" hitting, practice hitting pitches of different speeds and movement, and focus on improving your overall bat speed. Best of all, the Hit-a-Way pole sets up just about anywhere--in a driveway or backyard, at the practice field, or even near the diamond on game day. Just collapse the pole and throw it into the trunk, and then slide it open once you reach your destination. The Hit-a-Way pole--which includes a bonus loop attachment for a tetherball--weighs 55 pounds and is designed for ages 7 and older. The pole does not come with either model of trainer.

4 out of 5 stars Great Training Aid   June 29, 2008
The design and quality of the pole are both top notch. I get a good workout on my swing. My 6 year old little leaguer has trouble keeping the ball going, but my 8 year old softballer can keep it going a few times, enough to get a good workout while I'm there to help. The secret is ball height, and wrapping the bottom cable a couple of times to lower the angle.

A+ for adults and pre-teens, B+ for the younger kids (under 10).

4 out of 5 stars Just what we wanted!!   June 16, 2008
This is just what we were looking for! We needed something portable for my husband to take back and forth to ball practice for my sons, and this was it! It is a little heavy, but I guess it would have to be. We don't have any small trees in our yard, and my kids don't play basketball, so this was our answer to hitting practice for our 8 year old. We haven't had any trouble with it yet. It is a great training aid and you can't beat the price that Amazon offers (especially with the free shipping!). We love it and it suits our needs! Thanks Amazon for having, again, what we couldn't find in any store around us!

4 out of 5 stars Hit me one more time   June 2, 2008
Works very well for the repetitive motion needed to practice the mechanics of your swing. No need to chase the ball, reset the ball, replace the ball during the drills. Folds up for easy stow, very nice.

5 out of 5 stars Great Tool   October 18, 2007
My daughter tore my basketball pole down using the Hit-A-Way. This pole is portable and much more durable than the basketball pole. My daughter is 12 and hits about everyday. She can set it up by herself and can tear it down. The wheels make it easy for her to move it around.

This is a great teaching devise that is portable, and enables good hand/eye coordination. It's great for getting your timing down. It is a little heavy for my 11 year old son, thank goodness for the wheels to help move it around. Very easy to set up.
