Brooks Trance 7 Running Sneaker Review September 1, 2008 Found the Brooks to be true to size and a really comfortable fit. Excellent support, stability and cushioning for a light weight shoe. This is my 5th Trance and they just keep getting better. Amazon service was excellent yet again.

i bought these shoes for long distance. 8-marathons. They have been a wonderful shoe. especially if you over pronate. They have lots of support and i have bought this model three times now. Rich milton wi 5 star
What the hell is MoGo? July 31, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just bought the shoes due to price rather than looking at features 2 for $[...] is a hell of a deal when you log 65-75 MPW. I was hoping they had none of those cushioning, stability and motion control crap as I am a very efficient runner with perfect arches and prefer performance shoes. I have been feeling beat up since stepping up my mileage for Summer base and hope these will transition well to my 15M long runs on Sundays. During the week I use some old school Nike Pegasus TCs. Everytime I find the pefect shoe the manufacturer schmucks it up with stupid updates. They put so much update to the Saucony Pro Grid ride that when I run in them every piece of leaf or wood chip on the trail enters into my shoe.
Very good long-distance ROAD shoe... July 26, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought these for long (6-15 miles) runs on asphalt or concrete, and for that they work wonderfully...very sturdy and comfortable. The reason I don't use them for softer surfaces like dirt or grass, or for shorter runs, and especially not for speedwork, is their weight---the same massive amount of cushioning needed for long runs on hard surfaces is totally unnecessary and counterproductive for other applications. A lighter, thinner-soled and more flexible shoe is much better in those situations.
Generally am very happy with all of my Brooks shoes and apparel. Brooks makes ONLY running gear, so you know they're going to be good since it's their sole bread and butter specialty. One of the things about Brooks I really like is the fit, I have medium arches and a narrow heel, and their shoes have always fit me like a glove, especially the ever-popular Adrenalines. The Trance is similar to the Adrens, though the heel is a little bit tight...I use a little athletic tape over my Achilles tendon to avoid any abrasions, but since this only happens on my left foot, it might have more to do with my own biomechanics than the shoe itself.
The reason I give this shoe 4 instead of 5 stars is because I think that in hindsight, I probably should've stayed with the slightly lighter and simpler Adrenaline. I'm have a medium-build at 5'9" and 165lbs, and am a very efficient midfoot striker; I think that this shoe would be best for a heavier and less efficient runner, especially a heel striker. That said, the Trance is especially good for mid- or fore-foot strikers because it seems to have a lower heel than other Brooks models...unless I'm deceived by outward appearance.
Oh well, you gotta try everything once. The Trance 7 is certainly a HUGE improvement over the last Trance model I tried, the NSX from several years ago.
Great but they squeak July 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are great shoes, but like some other running shoes, they squeak when you walk.
