Product Description Sorel's most versatile boot, the Caribou, offers tough protection from the elements, whether you're on the job or enjoying leisure time outside. Its waterproof construction pairs with a traction-ready outsole for a weather-defying attitude. Its cozy Sherpa Pile cuff will keep wet out and warmth in, while a removable felt inner boot adds cozy cushioning--a real comfort, even after day-long wear.
Product Description Outdoor enthusiasts who buy the Caribou generally keep it forever--or at least until the felt liner wears thin. That's why Sorel updated their timeless classic a decade ago with a removable (and replaceable) 9 mm. ThermoPlus felt InnerBoot. It has an enhanced moisture-wicking four-layer construction that insulates while reflecting body heat back to your foot. The Caribou features a waterproof, full grain leather upper that keeps rain, snow and slush out of your socks. We love ours for aprs, especially in the early winter or spring when village streets and parking lots run gray with oozing channels of slush. The streamlined Aerotrac outsole might look a little different from the heavy lug sole of classic Caribou boots, but the claw-like grip remains the same, especially on polished ice surfaces.

20+ years and still going strong October 27, 2008 Purchased in 1985 at an Army surplus store in Colorado, these boots have been through EVERYTHING. As one of the original Burton snowboard riders (yes wood) these were also used for 6 seasons of snowboarding. I find them warm, comfortable, and bulletproof. I'm just NOW starting to see rust in the lacing straps, and yes I still use them almost daily from November to March. I figure another 5 years and they will be ready to retire.
I hope R. Smiths story is not indicative of current quality but I don't think so...probably just a fluke. I've tried friends pairs recently and the quality is still built in.
great boots! January 28, 2008 My brother in law told me about these boots as we head up to snowy Modoc County California quite often. On his recommendation I purchased a pair for my husband. He loves them! Very comfortable, rugged, and keep your feet warm and dry. Not clunky feeling at all. Easy on and off. They also look great too. I would recommend these boots to anyone who wants to get around in the snow.
Great Boots January 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these boots for my older son last Christmas and was having a hard time finding them for my younger son this year. They both love them! Not only did Amazon have the boots, but they had a better price than anyone else.
Sorel doesn't get any better for a New Englander former Canadian January 21, 2008 I needed new winter boots for my sons. They love the outdoors and can spend hours outside. "Mine don't fit, can I use your boots?" says one of my sons. I reply, "Sure, but if I need to shovel, I've gotta have them back." Do you think I see them?
I took the afternoon off from work and brought them to a great online retailer's brand store. Looked through all the available stock and one son turns to me and says "I want what you have....", "uuhhhmmmm, I guess that's ok but they're kind of expensive, but definitely worth it.
So I search online and where do I end up? My favorite shopping portal, Amazon with pretty awesome prices.
This is a great product, I don't know much about the variations but simply put, this model of Sorel is comfortable, nice height, warm and very reasonably priced . So, I'm happy, my boys are happy and my wife is especially happy.
Not happy January 10, 2008 After 1-1/2 winters, mine are falling apart. The left sole is split from the upper and each boot has numerous small cracks in the rubber where my foot flexes. Not good for a $100 boot. They ARE very warm when my feet aren't wet. UPDATE: Sorel has now sent me a whole new pair
