Well-designed skateMarch 20, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
No-one has reviewed these skates yet, so here goes. The only immediate issue is that these skates look like they'll run big. The size 11 setting is much longer that my son's size 11 Bauer ice-skate, and the footbed is wider. The small ZT660 has 6 lace holes and the boot is about 8.75 inches at the size 11 setting. Outside of that, they are great in-line skates for growing kids. The boot is pretty stiff and well-padded inside. The toe cap slides forward by lifting a lever underneath...there is no need for tools. However, the lever might take a beating through normal wear because it is on the outside of the skate. When the cap slides foward, there is some mesh material underneath that stretches so the child's foot is always covered. The bearings are ABEC-7 which is pretty good for a beginner skate. They are a birthday gift for my 4 year-old, so I can't comment on how he likes them for a few more weeks.
